Spanish
Introductory Spanish: Begin your journey into the Spanish language with Introductory Spanish. This course is designed for students with little to no prior knowledge of Spanish. Students will learn basic vocabulary, common phrases, and essential grammar rules. Emphasis is placed on developing listening and speaking skills through interactive activities and cultural exploration. By the end of the course, students will be able to hold simple conversations and have a foundational understanding of the language.
Spanish 1: Building on the basics, Spanish 1 deepens students’ understanding of the Spanish language and culture. This course focuses on expanding vocabulary, improving pronunciation, and mastering more complex grammatical structures. Students will engage in conversational practice, writing exercises, and cultural projects to enhance their language skills. By the end of Spanish 1, students will be able to communicate more confidently in everyday situations.
Culinary 101
Immerse yourself in the world of cooking with Culinary 101. This elective introduces students to fundamental cooking techniques, kitchen safety, and basic nutrition. Students will explore a variety of cuisines and learn to prepare delicious dishes from scratch. The course includes hands-on cooking sessions, guest demonstrations from professional chefs, and visits to local culinary establishments. By the end of the course, students will have the skills and confidence to create their own culinary masterpieces.
Career & Education Exploration
Discover potential future careers and the educational paths needed to achieve them in this engaging elective. Students will have the opportunity to participate in field trips to local colleges and various workplaces. Additionally, we invite parents to share their professional experiences, providing valuable insights into different careers. The course also includes hands-on activities such as resume and cover letter writing workshops, preparing students for their future job searches and career opportunities.
